Welcome to Fertility and Total Health Acupuncture

My mission is to provide Whole Body Total Health Care to help you heal your body as well as your mind. I provide high quality acupuncture, nutritional counseling and when necessary Chinese herbal formulas  to individuals, couples and families. While the primary focus of my practice is fertility and other gynecological conditions, I also treat many other physical and mental health issues including stress, anxiety, depression, chronic and acute pain from injuries or overuse, migraine headaches, IBS, Bells Palsy, addiction and smoking and more.

Jon’s Treatment Philosophy

I treat fertility patients with a combination of Traditional Oriental Medicine, relaxation techniques, guided imagery and a blend of Eastern and Western nutritional recommendations to enhance reproductive function and overall good health. I believe Acupuncture treatments by a highly trained specialist, used as an adjunct to state of the art biomedical fertility care can provide reinforcement to realizing a full term pregnancy. Acupuncture is a perfect compliment to Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) which includes Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI) and In-vitro Fertilization (IVF). I work very closely with most of the biggest Fertility Centers in the South Jersey area and I perform On-Site Day of Transfer treatments 7 days a week 355 days per year in both Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia area Fertility Clinics.

My goal is to provide current and future patients a place to get valuable information and help for both physical and emotional difficulties.

With that in mind I have recently added a Blog as well as Forums to this site. It is also my great pleasure to announce the addition of the Mental Health clinical expertise of my wife Lori Posner, MS, LMFT to this site beginning October 2011. She will also begin leading Support Groups and seeing interested Individuals and Couples in our office beginning mid November 2011. Her treatment philosophy in her own words is written below. Lori’s Treatment Philosophy

As a woman and a Mental Health professional, I am deeply aware of the toll infertility can take on women and couples. Having a sister that went through eleven IVF cycles and several miscarriages, I witnessed the deep pain and mental and physical stress up close. Like many women and couples dealing with infertility she experienced stress on herself, her marriage, her friendships and her work life.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience, I  focus on strengthening the self and relationships through communication, compassion, acceptance and knowledge. I combine the western techniques of family and cognitive therapy with eastern philosophy and techniques of mindfulness.

My goal is to support those who visit this site with my knowledge and experience through articles, posts, and blogs and participation in the forums. It is my hope to help alleviate some of the suffering and uneasiness that results from the sadness, frustration, stress, anxiety and even anger associated with the entire infertility process. I can also help with the grief, loss and trauma that is associated with miscarriages and chemical pregnancies that some couples experience.
